The IBC accessory that catches most people out is thread compatibility. The standard coarse buttress thread on a 275 gallon tote outlet is S60x6, and a garden hose will not fit it without an adapter. Budget for an adapter, a new EPDM gasket and a UV-opaque cover on any tote destined to sit outdoors — together about $40 and the difference between a working system and a leaking, algae-filled one.

What it will and will not hold
The single most common accessory mistake is thread. The outlet on a 275 or 330 gallon composite IBC is S60x6 — a 60 mm coarse buttress thread. It is not NPT, it is not a garden hose thread, and no amount of PTFE tape will make it into one.

Fit a vented lid before you draw down
Sixteen dollars against a permanently deformed bottle. There is no third option that ends well.
Match the elastomer to the liquid
EPDM for water, acids, alkalis and steam. Nitrile for oils and fuels. Viton for solvents and heat. Expensive does not mean correct — Viton does badly against hot water and steam.
Check whether containment is required
Oils, fuels and regulated chemistry generally need a sump sized to the largest container plus freeboard. A two-tote poly pallet with a 66 gallon sump covers a single 275 comfortably.

What thread does an IBC tote outlet use?
The standard on 275 and 330 gallon composite IBCs is S60x6 — a 60 mm coarse buttress thread. Adapters convert it to garden hose, camlock, NPT or barb. Some older or European units use S100x8 on the lid and a different outlet cap, so check before ordering: send us a photo of the outlet and we will identify it.
Do I need a spill containment pallet?
If you are storing oils, fuels or regulated chemistry, quite possibly yes — SPCC rules and many local fire codes require secondary containment sized to the largest container plus freeboard. A two-tote poly pallet with a 66 gallon sump covers a single 275 gallon container comfortably. We can also fabricate bunded steel platforms for larger arrays.
Can I fit a pump directly?
Yes, with a camlock or NPT adapter. For anything viscous or for transfer over distance, tell us the pump and the liquid at quote time and we will spec the right adapter, hose and gasket material. Nitrile, EPDM and Viton behave very differently against solvents.
What is the single accessory most people forget?
The vented lid, closely followed by the cover. Between them they prevent the two most common forms of self-inflicted container damage — vacuum collapse and UV embrittlement — for sixty-four dollars. We fit a vented lid as standard on anything we know will be drawn down, but we cannot know unless you tell us.
Can I run a pump straight off the outlet?
With a camlock or NPT adapter, yes. For anything viscous or pumped over distance, tell us the pump and the liquid at quote time so we spec the adapter, the hose and the gasket material together. Nitrile, EPDM and Viton behave completely differently against solvents and the wrong one fails quietly.
Do you sell parts without a container order?
Yes, there is no minimum. A single six dollar gasket is a perfectly reasonable order and we post small parts. For anything over about $60 it is usually cheaper to collect at the gate or fold it into a delivery you have coming anyway.
